Base Plane NO 61. This plane is similar to base planes 71 and 71½ from STANLEY. The base plate and the oval iron bracket are made of bronze. The base plate with an oval hole of 50x40 mm has two 7 mm holes.

In the middle at the back, a 32 mm high socket Ø 20x16 mm with two 8 mm wide right-angled incisions serves as an iron stop. On this is a worm gear made of iron, which is firmly attached. The teeth of this engage with the grooves of the plane iron to adjust the cutting depth.

With the oval iron bracket of 46x31x18 mm with 6.5 mm thread and a 31 mm long screw, 6.5 mm WW 55° 20G ¼" thread, the iron is held firmly. A 30 mm long, 3 mm rod is inserted through the screw head for turning. The two wooden handles, 5.1 cm high Ø 3,3/2,3/4,1 cm, are mounted on 10 mm high bronze bases Ø 15 mm and are held by a 50 mm long, 6.5 mm iron screw with bronze heads, thread as above.

The base plate is 3.5 mm thick and is bordered with 8 mm.

Iron: 5 mm, right-angled to square shaft, 7.5 mm shaft. This is toothed to fit the worm gear at the back.
