U-shaped iron body. Side walls: 230×65 mm, 2.5 mm thick, increasing to 5.5 mm at the back, welded to a 153×23 mm sole. Mouth: 2 mm wide.

Just in front of the mouth, the side walls (5.5 mm deeper) meet the narrower sole on the sides. The front wooden insert (15.3/6×1.7×6.3 cm) is glued in to support the wooden wedge. The rear insert (14.4/2×6.3×1.7 cm) acts as the iron bed.

Top bevel approx. 20°, bed angle approx. 27° → about 47° total
