SHELTON JACK PLANE

Smoothing plane. Cast iron body. Sole is 5 mm thick, side walls 4 mm. Front is reinforced by 1 mm with “SHELTON” in the casting. Front knob is round (Ø 4.9 / 1.9 cm), 6.9 cm high, with an 8×55 mm vertical screw. Mouth is 18.5 mm behind the frog, 56 mm wide at the top.

The frog is 22 mm long and 8 mm thick, fastened with a vertical screw (10 mm, Whitworth 55°–16G). A bronze pivot (2.5×12×22 mm) with a 7 mm thread and wing nut adjusts the iron bed. The lateral adjustment lever is riveted and has a small fork for the cap iron screw.

Cap iron is 115 mm long, 31 mm wide, with a 7 mm slot for the screw. Lever cap is 110×30 / 28×3 mm, slightly curved, secured by a 6 mm screw with a 12 mm cylindrical head (Whitworth 55°–16G). Rear handle (122×32 / 25×19 mm) is wooden, 104 mm high, fastened by a 6 mm screw with a round 15 mm head. The brass depth adjuster wheel is 25 mm in diameter and 6.5 mm thick, with a 5 mm thread, turning on a 5 mm rod. Overall length of the plane is 360 mm, width 63 mm.
