A precision block plane made of cast iron, with 3 mm wall thickness. The front bears the “STANLEY” casting. It has a wooden knob handle (approx. 3.2 cm diameter, 2.5/1.9/2.9 cm height dimensions). Model No. 220 is also cast into the body. The triangular web structure supports a 3 mm mouth opening.

The adjustment mechanism includes a round 15 mm lug with a 7.5 mm left-hand thread for a 21 mm-long, 7 mm screw with a 10 mm head. At 115 mm from the front is an angled hollow slide channel (approx. 33 × 19 × 10/19 mm) with a 6.5 mm left-hand threaded hole at the rear. Within the 14 mm guide of this cast-in U-channel runs a sliding piece (23 × 19 × 4 mm) with an upper cap (18 × 7/4 × 9 mm), which engages the iron in one of 10 slots via a 2 mm tab. The lower lug has a 5.5 mm left-hand thread.

A 50 mm screw with an 8 mm knurled head (~32 mm diameter) includes five 7 mm rings and five holes. This screw features two different left-hand threads: a lower 20 mm section (5.5 mm diameter) and an upper 16 mm section (6.5 mm diameter). It adjusts the iron’s depth — turning clockwise lifts the blade.

The lever cap measures 92 × 43 × 0–29 mm and has a domed thumb guard and textured inner surface. It uses a clamping ring with a cam lever, and the casting is marked: PATD. 10.12.97.

Blade: 41.5 mm (1 5/8 in.), with a 35 × 11 mm slot and ten fine adjustment grooves (13 × 2 mm). The bevel is on the top. The cutting angle is about 21°.
