Fore Plane – Fine and Bullnose Type

A precision and bullnose plane made of cast iron, with 3 mm thick walls. At the front, it functions as a smoothing plane with a rounded 5 mm lip, 7 mm high. The side walls are 3 mm thick, with two reinforcements toward the rear.

A wooden knob (~1.8/3 cm diameter, 3.5 cm high) is secured with a screw. The body length is 130 mm. Both front and rear mouths have 4 mm sole reinforcements. A 50 mm wire at the top acts as a cap iron stop, mirrored at the rear. Between them is a cast block (18 × 17 × 22/26 mm) with four vertical stiffeners.

At the rear, a 3 mm thick bullnose piece is 42 mm wide. The chip breaker is 13 mm wide with a 10 mm rear wall. The cap iron (99 × 41/32 × 30 mm) is shaped at the top like a handle, with a 35 × 9 mm slot and a 12 mm base threaded with a 6 mm screw.

The clamping screw is 22 mm long with a 3 mm thick steel washer (~38 mm diameter) featuring 14 notches. It can be installed at the front or rear.
