Iron Spokeshave – Preston & Sons
Cast iron body with two 90 mm long oval handles, hollowed on the inside, with an oval slot (25 × 55 mm) on the top. The mouth is approximately 4 × 54 mm, and the chipbreaker is 8 mm. The body includes a 6 mm threaded screw and a wing screw to hold the cap iron.
The cap iron measures about 33 × 52/58 × 18 × 2 mm, featuring a slotted hole. Attached to the body is a 30 mm long, 6 mm screw with a 20 mm nut (Ø 19 mm), and 7 mm below that, between guide rings on the nut, a 1 mm steel plate with two bent wings and an 18 mm wide tab for fine-tuning the cutting depth through the upper iron gap.
The cap, rear section, and handles feature decorative cast patterns along with the maker's mark.
Iron: 50 mm wide with vertical slot (26 × 9 mm) and horizontal slot (5 × 18 mm). Approximate cutting angle is 40°.
