Mitre Plane – Fine Smoothing Plane
The body is made from U-shaped iron. Side flanges taper from 3 mm at the front and back to zero. The mouth is located 52 mm from the front, measuring 5 × 41 mm. Behind it, the interior is beveled at 25°, forming the iron bed.
Positioned 32 mm back is a 45 mm wide block (9 × 13/19 mm), fitted to the 25° angle, and held with two side screws. This also acts as the iron support due to the angled mouth. Above this is a 5 mm round rod (50 mm long) embedded in the side walls, serving as a rest for the wooden wedge.
Iron: 41 mm wide (1⅝″), with top bevel Bevel: approx. 20° Cutting angle: 25° bed + 20° bevel = approx. 45°
