Bullnose Plane – Cornice Plane

Cast iron body (4 mm thick walls). At the front is a 9 mm chipbreaker and a 2 mm mouth. A rounded step sits above the chip opening. Behind that is a hollow recess where the cap iron locks in place. Toward the rear, there is a rounded extension at 53 mm from the front, protruding 9 mm at the back. The rear wall is 25 mm vertical.

The cap iron measures about 90 mm in length and 15 mm wide at the front, gradually increasing to 30 mm where it meets the iron. There, it’s raised by about 25 mm, and includes a 5 mm bolt in front and a 6 mm thread at the rear. A 40 mm-long bronze screw with a 19 mm head secures it. On the sides, there are 1 mm chamfers.

Iron: 26 mm wide (1″) with a 12 mm shaft, top bevel at ~22° Cutting angle: ~15° bed + 22° bevel = ~37°
