Mitre Plane – High-End Decorative Model

Precision smoother with 2 mm bronze sidewalls, featuring corniced tops and tear-shaped rounded backs with beveled edges. Front and back are reinforced with 4 mm thick bronze plates (18/22 × 15 mm), dovetailed to the steel sole.

A rear 10 mm screw secures the wedge core (approx. 4.2 × 2.8/1.4–4.0 cm). The wedge support is a bronze profiled block (16 × 6 × 28 mm) soldered to the sidewalls. An ivory insert (2.1/1.7 × 2.2 cm) sits atop.

The 115 mm iron is oval at the front, tapering to 27 mm, and protrudes 28 mm forward. It projects 5 mm to the rear. The bronze sidewalls are double-dovetailed into the sole with intricate joints (3 × 4 at 6–7 mm and 3 × 11 at 12–13 mm) — a near-impossible construction requiring masterful precision.

The wedge is made of ivory. Mouth measures 1 × 29 mm.
