Forged Plane

Forged iron box made from 3 to 5 mm iron sheet. Edges rounded, front top cut out, bottom front soldered together. Sole of equal thickness, soldered inside and outside with copper and bronze solder.

Wedge stop is a 47 mm long, 10 × 6 mm flat iron, forged in. Iron stop only at the mouth back wall and box edge rear top. Mouth measures 8 × 33 mm.

Forging and soldering are very primitive.

Iron: 32 mm wide, 88 mm long, wedge-shaped, 25 mm wide, 5 to 7 mm thick, hand-forged. Cutting angle: approx. 45°.

Condition: Very rustic.
