Chamfer Plane
Wooden block 14 × 4.6 × 4.8 cm, top edges rounded. Top trapezoid depth-adjustment block 3.7 cm wide. Shaving slot recessed 2.8 cm wide toward the back. Side walls 0.5 cm thick. On the left side, square bronze nut 5 × 15 mm inset in a slot. Behind this, wooden wedge (rounded at top) and iron. Trapezoid slot 4.4 × 3.7 cm through. Sole cut with a 90° inner corner and pointed profile. Side length 2.7 cm. At front left, 2 mm bronze plate 15 × 30/38 mm with 6 × 23 mm slot inset. Bronze screw Ø 6 mm, 21 mm long, Whitworth thread 55°, 20 threads per inch, 1/4″ diameter, head Ø 15 mm, knurled, used to secure the depth-adjustment trapezoid.
Iron: 36 mm; bevel down; cutting angle ∠ 57°.
Marks: THOS IBbotson & Co (in semicircle); SHEFFIELD (in omega arch); & X mark.
