Cooper’s Plane (curved rebate plane)

Left side flat, right side curved. Body formed as a circular segment, 18.5 cm long and 8.8 cm high. Right side fitted with a curved strip 24.5 cm long, 1 cm thick and 6.4 cm high, glued and nailed. Opening between for wooden wedge and iron. Inner radius approx. 12 cm × 9.5 cm, slightly elliptical. Used to cut a groove along the upper rim of a wooden cask for fitting the head.

Iron: 17 mm; shaft 6 mm; ground at 12° and set at approx. 20° toward the center. Cutting angle ∠ about 50°.
