Picture: Includes a contents list and exploded diagram glued to the lid with part names. Label on the top says "RECORD TOOLS MADE IN ENGLAND", and on the side, it says "RECORD MULTI-PLANE With 23 Tungsten Steel Cutters 405".
Manual: 1 booklet, 24 pages, titled "How to use".
From the front: The sole has a two-part tongue, 253 mm long, 20 mm high, 3 mm wide at the bottom and 5 mm at the top, tapering down to 0.5 mm at the end. The front edge is sunk and screwed in with three 4 mm screws.
Top: 14 mm long, 6 mm screw head (Ø 10 mm) with a slot to clamp the sliding rods. Adjusting nut is 16 mm long, Ø 17 mm with support ring Ø 9 mm at a vertical 7 mm bore. Between the handle and body is an iron holder with a 17 mm distance between the 7 mm bolts with threads Ø 13 mm and a 5 mm groove at a 30° angle. The clamping screw has a 4 mm screw with a flathead and holds the cutting depth in place.
The right side features a 20 mm long iron support with a 10 mm bore. Behind it is the clamping screw to hold the cutting depth stop. This consists of a 58 mm long and 18 mm wide 2 mm sheet metal piece with a 7 mm diameter vertical bolt 64 mm long, of which 42 mm are threaded. The cutting depth can be adjusted from 0 to 15 mm.
About halfway down, there is a bore at a 20° angle leftwards. An iron holder with a 30 mm wing nut and sheet metal holder (21x16 mm) is screwed onto the plane body and pulls a 43 mm long 7 mm clamping bolt with a 27 mm long thread, slanted on one side. Another 20 mm long clamping bolt holds the iron to the sole. The left iron part can be adjusted using the rods with screws.
There is also a side stop, which can be adjusted from 1.2 cm to 11 cm by rotating the wooden piece.
Iron Holder: A 30 mm wing nut and plate holder (21x16 mm) is screwed to the plane body and pulls a 43 mm long 7 mm bolt with 27 mm threads, side-slanted, and another 20 mm long bolt for the clamping bolt.
On the left plane section, the cutting depth stop can be shifted along the rods to match the cutting irons and tongues. Both irons and tongues are mounted on the rods and secured with 5 screws.
Clamped on a slanted foot (30x11 mm) with a 6.5 mm flathead screw on a washer. The iron adjusting screw is between the two cast knuckles on the handle. A 6 mm wide nut with a 26 mm knurled grip sits on a 54 mm long threaded rod, 9 mm thick at the bottom, turned down to 5 mm. A 3 mm long, 2 mm thick pin passes through and engages the plane iron's slot. In the thread is a 2x2 mm notch where the same pin from the upper holder sits, preventing the rod from turning.
Left plane section: It slides along the rods to adjust to the different cutting irons and tongues. The tongue and iron are set at the same height and secured with 5 rivets each. The front and rear sections are connected with a 50 mm wide and 65 mm long curved bow (Ø 16 mm in cast iron). In front of this, and 15 mm behind it, are cast knuckles with 10 mm bores for the rods. The clamping screws have oval heads (20x12 mm). On the front rod, there is a lateral cast projection with a vertical 7 mm bore for a third depth stop (39x16 mm with oval-head clamping screw). This can be fitted with an additional side stop (124x14x6 mm with 2x2 mm stop under the tongue) to help plane lateral roundings on wooden edges. Two connection rods (10 cm long, available in 126 and 213 mm lengths) are included.
The side stop can be mounted on either the left or right. A cast piece, 130 mm long, 5/13x18 mm, functions as the side stop and can be adjusted by 1.9 cm by turning the wood. When the longer rods are used, the side stop distance can be increased by about 11 cm. An additional depth stop (for a wide side stop) is also included, with an extra piece (68x13x40 mm, rounded at the bottom, with a 10 mm bore and clamping screw). This additional depth stop fits between the plane and side stop on the sliding rods and is adjustable by 1.7 to 4.2 cm.
Iron: Set in the original box, 23 pieces + 4 extra irons + 1 scoring iron + 1 screwdriver, cutting angle 50°.
Condition: Unused in original set.
