Cooper’s Plane (fore plane)

Sole projecting 2.3 cm. Front pin in German style, 9 cm high, set in 3 cm. Very finely carved square post. Wooden wedge and shaving slot at top, both slanted. Edges slightly rounded, with line decoration. Sides vertical, lengthwise slightly rounded, each with longitudinal cord ornament 5 mm wide. Sole radius 60 cm.

Iron: 45 mm; shaft 24 mm; hand-forged with 35 mm attached steel cutting edge; set at 10° slant; cutting angle ∠ approx. 47°.

Conserved.

Condition: good. Museum piece.
