Rabbet Plane (dual-sided)

Cuts left and right, or fine and coarse. By switching the right-hand iron to the opposite angle and re-setting it forward, the plane becomes a double-function left-cutting or right-cutting plane for either coarse or fine work.

Top flat, edges strongly rounded. Front section vertical, upper sides rounded to a 2 cm wide grip (7.5 × 2.1 × 1.2 cm), with hollowed underside down to 1.5 cm above the sole. About 7 cm back, both sides have open wedge-and-iron slots.

Left side: shaving slot and iron bed at 42° for left-hand cutting. Right side: matching shaving slot and iron bed for right-hand cutting. A second opposing cutout allows the wedge and iron to be swapped to reverse direction of cut.

Sole width left and right each 1.6 cm, with a 1 cm high center fence between them. Plane is carved from a single solid block.

Irons: Left iron 17 mm; cutting angle ∠ 42°.
Right iron 16 mm; shaft 13 mm; cutting angle ∠ 46°.
