Spokeshave (Edge-Shaping Plane)

This tool is cast in bronze, featuring a main bar measuring approximately 260 × 19 to 37 × 10 mm. In the center, there is a 40 mm-wide chip ejection area, with an iron bed bent upward (47 × 28 mm). Moving outward from the center, each side has a 6 × 19 mm slot, knurled edges, and a 10 × 31 mm hanging hole, positioned on 110 mm-long hollow handles underneath.

Two internal 45° beveled sliding pieces extend over the cutting edge so the bevel can be adjusted using a 31 mm-long, 5 mm screw with a wing nut (10 mm thread). The lever cap measures about 31 × 45 / 37 × 4 mm, secured by a 5 mm screw. Aside from the iron and screws, all components are bronze.

The iron is about 39 mm wide, with a 10 × 19 mm slot, set at around a 40° cutting angle. It is marked “ACIER FONDU G V.”
