Feather Edge Plane

Body made from a 35.4 cm long, 4.6 × 13.5 cm board. On the wide side, 7 cm long and 1.5 cm deep recess carved. Further down the same wide side, 4.3 cm length with a 2 × 3.7 cm deep recess carved. This creates a side fence 1.2 to 2.3 cm in front.

In the sole, 0.8 cm from the fence, a 1.4 cm wide, nearly 1 cm deep groove is planed, with a chip opening in the middle of the thick part, cut out with a hole chisel up to the fence thickness.

At the correct angle in the middle of the narrow upper part, a 1.5 cm wide conical hole is drilled and squared off. This likely indicates how this plane was made.

The rear has a closed handle with an 8 × 3.5 cm cutout, and the upper edge is decorated with two points between three curves.

Front has a 1.5 cm hole.

Condition: Rustic, good.
